Dear Participants to ICIRA 2016

The typhoon is approaching to Tokyo area.
If you cannot go to Minami-osawa campus, Tokyo Metropolitan University on August 22nd, we will arrange your presentation to the afternoon sessions of August 23rd.
Please take care when you come.

The 9th International Conference on Intelligent Robotics and Applications (ICIRA2016) is organized by the Research Center for Community-centric Systems, Tokyo Metropolitan University. The conference will be held in Tokyo, Japan, from August 22nd to 24th, 2016. The conference offers a unique and interesting platform for scientists, engineers and practitioners throughout the world to present and share their recent research and innovative ideas in the areas of robotics, automation and mechatronics.

Call For Papers

For further information,
please refer to e-mail: icira2016@tmu.ac.jp

The 9th ICIRA covers both theory and applications in all the areas of robotics, automation and mechatronics.

The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

Robotics: Collective and social robots; Human-robot interaction; Mobile robots and intelligent autonomous systems; Robot vision, recognition and reconstruction; Multi-agent systems and distributed control; Robot intelligence, learning and linguistics; Cognitive robotics; Fuzzy and neural systems; Evolutionary robotics; Robot design, development and control; Robot motion analysis and planning; Medical robot; Robot actuators and sensors; Robot cooperation; Robot legged locomotion; Robot mechanism and design; Perception and awareness; Man-machine interactions; Space and underwater robots; Virtual and augmented reality; Planning and Navigation/Localization

Mechatronics: Advanced measurement and machine vision system; drives and actuators modeling; Education in mechatronics engineering; Adaptive and learning control system; Advanced control and informatics; Micro-electro-mechanical systems; Multi-sensor data fusion algorithms; Estimation and identification; Modeling of complex systems; Process control and instrumentation; Motion control; Micro and nano systems; Nonlinear systems and control; Optimal control; Rotating system dynamics and control; Smart structures & materials hybrid; Stability and stabilization; Motion vibration and noise control; Real-time and hardware-in-the-loop simulation; Sensing of small quantities

Applications: Computer integrated manufacturing; Factory modeling and automation; Fault detection, testing and diagnosis; Flexible manufacturing systems; Robotics in agriculture; Human-centric systems; Community-centric systems; Mechatronics in energy systems; Aerospace engineering; Automotive systems; Data storage systems; Electronic packaging; Manufacturing; Prototyping

All papers to be presented at regular sessions or special sessions are to be published in LNAI/LNCS series of Springer (www.springer.com/lncs). All the contributed papers are eligible for the ICIRA 2016 Best Conference Paper Award. Detailed instructions for paper submission is provided on the conference website (http://www.comp.sd.tmu.ac.jp/icira2016/PaperSubmission.html). Selected quality paper will be recommended for ICIRA 2016 special issues of International Journal of Intelligent Robotics and Applications, Springer with further review.

The conference features special sessions focusing on new research topics and innovative applications. Papers in these sessions undergo a regular review process as those in general sessions. A special session has to contain at least four papers. Prospective organizers are invited to contact special session chairs to propose tracks with the title of the session, its scope, list of topics, and organizer names, by March 14, 2016. Each special session may have an invited talk as well. If the organizer(s) is(are) interested in an invited talk, please contact the special session chair (Kazuyoshi Wada, k_wada@tmu.ac.jp) and program co-chair (Janos Botzheim, botzheim@tmu.ac.jp).
