About IMS

For students who desire to study at our Division of Intelligent Mechanical Systems

The curriculum of the Intelligent Mechanical Systems develops students’ abilities to create novel intelligent systems that consider issues of human security and comfort in urban life, the environment, and energy. We also conduct research activities in the following three fields: 1) Control and Robotics, 2) Human and System Engineering, and 3) Materials, Processes, and Measurements.

Enhancing the Field of Mechatronics

Engineering fields treat society on the whole as a single “system”. In addition, each element composing society is also treated as a single system. Because there are as many approaches as there are systems, our division and department span a wide range of themes. Our technologies are utilized in diverse fields.

Let’s Create the Future Together!

Because most modern challenges are composed of many intricately intertwined elements, merely applying traditional technologies will not resolve them. We aim to solve these complex challenges and create technologies that generate novel values from a viewpoint that centers on people and system integration. University research provides opportunities not only to see and learn about global cutting-edge technologies, but also to create the future.

“Future Mechatronics”, which will be people-friendly and environment-friendly, will be realized by YOU. If you have an innate curiosity, a strong desire to learn, and are interested in manufacturing, join us!
